The Obamamobile

Barack Obama is not only moving into his new diggs, otherwise known as the White House, he'll now be driving around in style in his new "Obamamobile." Some are referring to it as Cadillac One and the Beast, but no matter what you call it, this black stretch limousine, created by General Motors, and provided to Obama, is first class all the way.

Gone are the days of his 2005 Chrysler 300 Series C, recently put up for sale on eBay and now at $100,000 as of January 16, 2009. Now it's on to a limousine worth an several hundred thousand dollars, complete with a chauffeur. Now that is what I call stepping up.

Obama's wheels won't just serve as a luxury means of travel. The Obamamobile will be a source of protection, an obviously good idea for a man who has more threats to his life pre-presidency than any other president.

Obama should be safe in the Obamamobile which is built like a tank to preserve Obama's life and those with him. From in the Obamamobile, Obama can communicate with the outside world, call for help on his panic button located in the rear compartment, and a get in touch with the vice president and the pentagon via the direct line installed in his rear seat.

Once he is inside, getting close to Obama is nearly impossible. The doors to the limo are armour-plated and are eight inches thick and as heavy as the cabin door of a Boeing 757 jet. Chances of getting through that are slim. The driver's window, the only window that opens allowing the driver to pay for tolls or talk to Secret Service running by the car, can withstand armour-piercing bullets. This is a great thing so no one can shoot at Obama sitting in the backseat.

So now it's obvious that no one can get at Obama physically, but what about the car? That's safe too. It's equipped with a petrol tank that is armour plated and filled with a foam that prevents the car from exploding should someone try blowing up the Obamamobile. It's not feasible. The chassis is protected too with a five inch plate that runs underneath the car in case a bomb were to be placed there.

Since the tires on any car are an easy target to stop a vehicle abpruptly, special precautions have been taken for them to be protected. They are reinforced, shred and puncture resistant and have steel rims that will allow the car to continue moving even if the tires have been blown off.

With all the protection from this aluminium, steel, titanium, and ceramic made car, there are things on board to help Obama should anyone actually try to harm him. A boot in the back of the car holds an oxgyen tank and fire fighting system, and bottles of Obama's blood are kept on board in case he needs an emergency blood transfusion.

The Obamamobile is able to fight back too. Equipped with night vision cameras to see in the dark of the night, it has pump action shot guns and tear gas cannons to defend America's first black president.
