The Oceanic 6 on Lost
Lost on ABC Questions Who Are the Oceanic 6?
The show focuses on the effects of the castaways calling for help on Naomi's phone. She was a supposed rescuer there to help find the survivors and save them. She was shot dead at the end of season three, and the ship she claimed to be from called and made contact. The show opens with the notion of the survivors wanting to escape.
But who are the "Oceanic 6"? We see the show open up with a flash-forward, and Hurley is in a car chase that ends with him being arrested and shouting "don't you know who I am? I am one of the Oceanic 6!" Which leads us to believe there are six survivors that make it off the island. We know Jack Shephard, Kate Austen and Hugo "Hurley" Reyes are the first half of the Oceanic six, but who are the others?
I will make my venture that John Locke is one of the Oceanic 6. He may be the one who died in the last episode of season 3, "The Looking Glass". He has to be one of the 6 who manages to survive the island, and after tonight's premier episode, he makes a bit at it by going to the Barracks where the others used to live.
But what about the other 2 of the LOST survivors? I think Oceanic flight 815 left us with 2 others that survived, and in my opinion I think they are Ben Linus, the leader of the Others and the foil to Jack and John Locke, and current captor to the Lost crew. Ben has found ways to survive, and he is going to do it again.
Now how about the last of the Oceanic 6? I believe it is James Ford, aka Sawyer. Why Sawyer? If we follow the logic of the last episode of Lost in Episode "The Looking Glass", Kate Austen is there to meet Jack Shephard at the end of the episode and she says that she has to get back, because "he" might wonder where she is...who else would that be if it isn't Jack?
Wow-an amazing introduction to season 4 of Lost, and I can't wait to get Lost all over again! Please writers, get off of the strike and give us more episodes!!

please, i can not find the eposide THE BEGINING OF THE END OR IF IT IS REVLATIONS? I'VE EVEN GO OUT & BOUGHT ALL 3 SEASONS. I CAN'T CATCH THE CHANNAEL THAT LOST PLAYS ON SO I WATCH IT ON MY PC. BUT I'VE WATCHED EVERY SEASON & ALL OF THIS ONE. BUT THERE IS A GAP , THIS SEASON STARTS WITH SOMTHING ELSE. I STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW THEY GOT TO THE PART OF THE PLANE BECAUSE THEY WERE AT THE RAIDO TOWER?????? I'VE LOOKED EVERY WHERE I COULD TO FIND IT BUT CAN'T. THE WHOLE EPOSIDE. ALL I GET ARE BITS & PEACES. THE ONE THAT ABC SHOWES AS THE FIRST SHOW THIS SEASON SAYS PREVIOLY ON LOST & THEY SHOW PARTS OF A SHOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ON THERE SITE. EVEN THOW SO WHAT DO I DO? WHERE DO I GO TO SEE THE WHOLE THING? PLEASE HELP ! ! ! ! ! !!

Great article...However the only thing about Ben being one of the Oceanic 6 is impossible. Ben has been a part of the island from the get go and was never on flight 815 there fore he can not be considered one of the survivors of the flight if he was never on it.
All of this discussion and last week's episode leave me to believe that the oceanic six are the six that get rescued officially, not the ones that come back unknowingly. I think, for instance, that Ben and Sahid are not coming back knowingly, and so aren't part of it. plus, kate can't come back with anyone knowing, because then she'd be arrested. But, they said they were revealing another one of the oceanic six, so who was that then?
actually, in the ads for tonite they said another one of the oceanic 6 will be revealed....i cant wait!
Did only Hurley say "I'm one of the oceanic6?" If so, that doesn't say a lot; he was seeing things on the island that didn't excist, and now he's in a mental hospital. Perhaps we're all on the wrong track here. Anyway about the writers-strike: maybe the bosses from Lost want to hire us in for a somewhat reduced price? Just offering........Anyway, good article.
