One very important thing about being more confident is that it involves changing the way that you view life. You have to be positive in order to attract positive things. You need to tell yourself that you are a great person. There are resources out there that teach all about positive self talk. All it takes is a little bit of reassurance and you can do anything that you set your mind to. People find themselves down in the dumps over a number of different things. Some of the reasons are because they are overweight, and others are because they had a bad childhood. You might even have someone in your life who is always putting you down, and you believe the negative things that they say about you.
With positive self talk, you can learn how to block out those lies that others and yourself have led you to believe. The reality is that no one has a real reason to have low self esteem. It can be hard to gain confidence, and it is not expected of you to achieve overnight. Like anything, persistence must be practiced in order for success to come to pass. You need to repeat things like "you are awesome" and "you are beautiful" to yourself over and over again when you are feeling down. Learn how to reassure yourself about the things that you doubt which are causing you to have bad self esteem.
The offspring self esteem song goes something like, "Well I guess I should stick up for my self" and that is true! You need to stand your ground and not let those negative thoughts of yourself take over your mind. Tell that voice in the back of your head to shut up. You already know what it is going to say so you should be prepared to battle those negative thoughts. Your self esteem can either make or break you. The best thing to do is to build it up. Know what upsets you and what makes you happy.
Try to understand why your self esteem is so low. If you cannot figure it out right off of the top of your head, then write it all down. Ask yourself questions like why you are so down in the dumps all of the time, and what is it about yourself and your life that you do not like. What is holding you back and keeping you down? When you figure those things out, then tackle them with positive self talk, even if it makes no sense. For example, when your mind tells you that you are fat, fight back by saying, "No, I am not! I am skinny!" It is as simple as that.Juan m Valks is a Self-Development expert and he has got some great powerful Self-Esteem Building Secrets !
