The Old Dirt Road

Josh Robin
I leave my thoughts and dreams, I leave them down the old dirt road,
Dreams I wish to forever be remembered, dreams I wish to be forever be told.

Those are the dreams I shared , The ones of both me and you,
The dreams that did happened , the ones that had come true.

Those dreams still remain, they remain and you are gone,
You left behind a broken heart, you left me all alone.

Many times late at night, I lay down but only to cry,
To cry from that same night, the night you left and didn't say goodbye.

I'm getting older now, and yet I still cant find the answer,
Doctors are doing all they can for me, but in the end I'll die of cancer.

As I lie here, as I lie on this death bed
Reads out the poem i left, the poem i never said.

But if you ever find this, if this poem is ever told
Heaven is where you will find me, down the old dirt road.

This poem was written on a day when I was feeling down. I was inspired to write this on a truely sad moment when I figured out me and a girlfriend wouldn't work out. I hope everyone likes it. :)
