Who knows
what secrets lie
Within the silent walls
Of this old red country farmhouse?
Listen closely - you can hear the echoes
Of years gone by, and hushed voices
Of generations past -
What do they say?
Who knows…?

The reds and greens make for a beautiful photo. Your poem echoes the feeling one gets about farms and homes that have been around for awhile - if only walls could talk (but maybe best they can't!) rcj
Lovely, Mike.
We are just now recovering from the storm and it's been days since we had power, heat, food, Internet, etc. I am thankful that we have been restored today - but there are still thousands without and my thoughts are with them tonight as the temps drop once again. cheers ;)
Your talent is astounding! Loved it...
Been a long summer, (but not long enough for me), and I have been outside enjoying every minute with with my grands and many others. I have missed my friends on AC and will soon batten down the hatches for the dreaded winter and enjoy their company! God bless, Michael
Lovely
Terrific poem and photo! We have a few of these beautiful farmhouses throughout our area. They are something really special to see.
Such a beautiful picture and house... family farms are becoming history, I wish we could hear them tell their wonderful stories of the past... and that all farm houses are as still loved as this one... beautiful poem Mike...
