Even though it was revealed just over a week ago many people have been able to try out the new class from The Old Republic. This character can be considered the strategic Assassin character (Think of the Assassins in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and how they used "Traps".) Playing as the Imperial Agent gives players a look at the inside of the Imperial Side, how they work and live in shadows and secrecy, carrying out top secret black-ops missions that are just too dirty for anyone else. Beyond the basic "Trap assassin" feel, the Imperial Agent also uses a type of cover mechanic in battle and is specially suited for long range weapons (lets face it, who doesn't love a good sniper?)
Guns and traps aren't the only options though, as there are multiple other items lined up in his arsenal, such as "the probe" and a few interesting darts including sleeping, which will incapacitate an enemy for a period of time, and poison which will slowly do damage over time. The probe however, is tossed at your enemy, it begins to hover over them, doing damage, and then KABOOM! And who doesn't enjoy a good kaboom?
The Imperial Agent looks to be a great hero choice for players who prefer to plan for a fight versus running in head first with there lightsaber slashing around at anything that moves. If you prefer to sneak in, lay in a few traps or exploit an enemies weakness and controlling the flow of battle, keeping it nice and slow until you're ready to finish everyone off, then this is going to be the hero for you. It looks like fun, it sounds like fun, and it -is- fun. Could this be the first starwars game to not get completely swamped with lightsaber wielding Jedi once its released?
