The Omni Club: Southwest Florida's Best Gym

Fort Myers, Florida

The Omni Club is a 54,000 square foot facility and the absolute best gym in all of southwest Florida. No other clubs in the area offer the same quality. Living Well Lady is joined with it. Basically two gyms in one, no extra charge. If you are a lady you can work out where you please. The Living Well lady side is only 4,500 square foot. I had a membership to this club for a little over 2 years when I resided in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

This gym became my home away from home. I would stay on exercise equipment take the remote control and turn to watch what I wanted while I sweated it out.

The Living well Lady side you could pretty much do what you wanted especially if it was in the evening and everybody has went home on that side. I would go in the evenings from 6 pm until 10 pm closing time. On weekends, I actually went to the club for a break; I would catch up on all the latest fitness and People magazines that people frequently left behind for you to read, and just relax on the plush leather couches in the lovely ladies lounge watching the new big screen television. Sometimes I would jump into the most awesome steam room in my swim suit and sweat my troubles away. What I personally enjoyed about this fitness center was the Living Well Lady attached to the club. I was super intimidated working out next to really buff body builder type guys on the other side, the Omni Club side. The gym is very popular. A lot of attractive people are dedicated to fitness and come here even the local weather guy has a membership here.

Membership- the prices vary I paid $45.00 dollars a month. In 2007 when I ended my membership the gym was so popular that rates were going up. $80.00 dollars was the last price I heard it was to join. All the superior upgrades (new showers), towel amenities (use as many towels as you like provided by the gym), supreme popularity (you could not even find a parking spot), made the price shoot on up there. If you are considering a membership, especially with the economy situation and so forth negotiate for the best lowest deal possible. Don't except the first number that they tell you is the membership price, be suave and ask for possible discount rates. No two people pay the same monthly rate.

Equipment- The cardiovascular section has over 100 pieces of equipment and all the machines are the latest and state of the art. The cardio section has the best entertainment theatre in front of you while you get your workout on. Just bring your favorite pair of headsets and plug into the music video channel, news or other cable programs you might enjoy. The free weight and circuit training section is large and the equipment is so great that many body builders in the area use this gym because of the equipment.

What is unique about the gym is the room dedicated just for abdominal workout. They have machines designed just for The Omni Club, for the best core workouts.

Tip# -Sometimes it does turn into too much of a social hour when people are talking or socializing not using equipment but leaning on it for over the hour not realizing someone needs to use it.

Testing-There is a human performance lab to test body fat, strength and flexibility, max Voz, Polar and Body Age testing. These tests are beneficial to tell you where you are physically. Find out exactly how many calories you burn per day and your fitness age.

Locker Rooms- are the most relaxing locker rooms available. A new steam room is available for usage each locker room has their own. The showers are huge with new designed powerful shower heads. The water feels so good beating down on your back after along workout, very calming and relaxing.

Tip#-Maids are constantly dusting and cleaning the locker room as well as the entire gym. They scrub equipment down to minimize ailments or air borne diseases.

Childcare- The childcare staff is very friendly and takes care of your children. There are plenty of games and movies to keep your child entertained while you workout. You can even see what your child is up to by looking at the TV screen. A camera is set up to show the childcare room at all times. Your child can stay up to 2 hours $2-$3 dollars per visit.

Bonus

On Friday's are Friend Friday's, bring a friend to work out with you for free. VIP Nights- occur about once a month in the evenings. They set up raffle ticket type games and food, prize winning, lots of mingling. Call it a fun night just for gym club members to show appreciation for members. They may even do breakfast sometimes on the weekend.

Classes-The group exercise programs are excellent. Some classes are included with membership but special classes you have to pay a fee to take such as Billy's Boot camp Classes. Aerobic, muscle toning, belly dancing, Pilates, yoga, and spinning classes are all included with membership.

Juice Bar- The juice bar is the best. Get awesome large icy protein shakes, protein bars and supplements at the juice bar. If you are hungry and need a pick me up shake before or after your workout session the shakes are the perfect treat. Have the person making the shakes, add a banana or peanut butter for a real hearty meal .

Corporate Discounts are offered to Lee County's Sheriff Department, The school District of Lee County, Miva Merchants, Sam Galloway Ford, Insurance Management Corporation and Prudential Florida WCI Realty. Corporate rates are available for 15 or more employers. Call for a special monthly rate.

oThe Omni Club and ABC Financial services, Inc.in Fort Myers, Florida are practicing deceptive, unethical, and out right unlawful business practices.
oThey came to my work and advertised corporate discount rate of $42.40 and free 2 weeks trial membership. but when i went to the gym they said membership would be $63.54 and "free" membership would cost me $45 something amount. anyhow i had signed up for no-contract monthly membership. I gave them 30 days written notice to cancel on 11/30/2010 and receipt of that letter has been confirmed. but as of now they are still charging me. dealing with The Omni Club and ABC Financial have been my worst nightmare. I'm currently filing complaint agast them with Office of Attorney General in Florida and consumer protection agency.
I have spoken with Duke and Meagan, the managers at Omni. And Whitney and Meg at ABC Financial.
