Over the past weekend I decided to pop in Titanic dvd and since it's been such a long time since I've last seen it, I did indeed watch it. I was clearly expecting to love the movie's story line once again like I did in the past, I'm still mesmerized by how the movie hasn't lost any of it's luster after all it has been thirteen years since I've last seen it. It's still a shocker that the movie still keeps me emotionally attached to the character's and how all of the sad scenes still made me cry like a baby. It took me into the past of the year 97' and how everyone was down playing this movie as if it wasn't going to break even but instead it made history and became one of the most prevailing movies of all time. It's also quite shocking how everyone is so quick to bash it when in all seriousness they clearly enjoyed the movie the Titanic. I don't understand how badmouthing this film does any good because there are a lot of men and women that loved it so much that they've seen the movie on more than one occasion on their trips to the movie theatres.
I'm only stating facts when I say no movie is perfect including this one because it does have some flaws. Some of the movie's dialogue is a little vague and how cleverly the two lovers come together as if it was a fairy tale. Although the movie the Titanic has these two faults, it doesn't really take away from this film at all enough to break it.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are way beyond great because their onscreen genius is what contributed to this movie's commercial success. Leo bringing his character Jack to the screen was very believable it also later proved to make him one of the most successful actors of his time since it was this film that got his foot in the door. Kate Winslet as well for bringing Rose to life was mesmerizing I was certainly impressed with her performance in this film. This movie was certainly for her time to shine since it was her that also helped make the movie's onscreen acting mesh well together with Leonardo's Jack character. I was also impressed with how well James Cameron was able to recreate a beautifully made Titanic which was certainly no easy task. I loved how he also made all of the sinking scenes and the sinking of the Titanic so believable it looked as if it were taking place once again.
I just generally have an unconditional love for the movie Titanic since I am in fact a Titanic buff. I was actually able to see what the Titanic might have been built like back in the day through James Cameron's account and vision, what a beautiful ship it was. I felt like when Titanic sunk in the movie it somehow affected me quite a bit since I have developed an unexpected interest in the ship due to this movie. I certainly was impressed by James Cameron's account of the Titanic in such a way that he never undermined the actual tragedy and that the movie was made in such a way that it had humanity. This movie is indeed a must watch movie, it gets two thumbs up by me for the movies shear genius. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.
