This opens up so many possibilities for Nintendo and its devoted fans. All the other major game systems in competition have online capabilities the most successful being the Xbox live community that is available with almost every game that has been launched for the Xbox 360. Nintendo has sat back and bided its time long enough and now has decided to step into the online arena.
One of the features that has been introduced so far that utilizes the Wii's online abilities are the channels available such as the forecast channel and news channel, but more importantly the new Wii Wii Shop. The Wii Shop is a place to spend credits online to buy a variety of different games and such. These games that can be purchased range in their variety, but include many classic NES titles like the original Super Mario Bros. game, as well as titles from other Nintendo systems.
You can purchase games that were also available on the Super NES, and Nintendo 64 as well. So you can easily build an online library of games from your home, and without spending a lot of cash. Many credits for the Wii Shop can be purchased at any major retailer.
The last innovation that could be available soon would be online play. Nintendo has been bombarded with questions concerning this matter and it would seem that sooner then later the Wii will going online and games will be made to be compatible with online play. This means that perhaps Mario Party 9 will not only be a great party game when you have your friends over, but a great party game anytime since you could play with anyone from around the world!
The Wii is indeed the most innovative game system around, and now that Nintendo is thinking about taking their virtual consul into the online gaming realm, there will be more possibilities then ever facing the Nintendo gaming population. The Wii Store right now is probably the greatest online feature with the Wii, allowing a younger generation to experience the origins of the Nintendo company, but in time there will be more online features on the Wii consul.

Post a Commentthat would be nice, and I'm sure they will have some better games soon, I just think that developers are only just scratching the surface of what the Wii is truly capable of thanks for the comment
I think the Wii can do so much more than what it's doing now. Right now, my Wii sits under my television collecting dust. I have the Zelda game, that one is good, but it's nothing incredibly special. I can't wait for some of the newer games that are coming out though. I hope to see a good Star Wars game where you use the Wiimote as a light saber or something.
