The Oprah Winfrey Show Along with Harry & David Make Ultimate Dreams Come True!
The Oprah Winfrey Show the "Ultimate Wildest Dreams" Episode
Guests Laurie Bowen and Kristin Broadley owners and entrepreneurs of Centerville Pie Co. located in Cape Cod were given the opportunity of a life time. This wouldn't be the first time Oprah had a hand in this company's future. Back in August 2009 after sampling their chicken pies, Oprah Winfrey dropped a plug for Centerville Pie Co on the air. Business began to boom. Once again it seems as though Oprah has taken Centerville Pie Co. under her wing. This time she had invited Bowen and Broadley to the Oprah Winfrey Show to participate in the "Ultimate Wildest Dreams" episode. During the show Oprah informed Bowen and Broadley that the famous and popular gourmet food company Harry & David were interested in helping with the production of their chicken pies and want to carry them in their Harry & David catalogs. Before the show had even been seen throughout the country orders for thousands of pies were already received by Harry & David.
Another special invitation was awarded to Denise Foster of Tabernacle, New Jersey as well as her three adult children. After receiving a letter that had been written by Denise's son John, telling Oprah's producers how hard his mother works, holding down three jobs to pay for his medical school and about the many sacrifices she has made for him and his sisters. The Foster's traveled to Chicago for a taping they were told was for a segment on single parenting. Little did they know the surprise Oprah Winfrey had in store for them. Oprah was about to make their Ultimate dreams come true. Oprah first announced that the family would receive a fabulous trip to Italy. Then Oprah went on to explain that she would also be paying off the $78,000 loans that Denise had accrued for her children's education. Once again it didn't end there. Oprah had something special she wanted to do for Denise. Oprah told Denise she will be receiving a whole year off of work with pay.
I guess this proves the old saying "Dreams Really Do Come True" especially if Oprah Winfrey and Harry & David have anything to do with them! This uplifting episode was one of Oprah Winfrey's finales, dedicated to her 25Th and final year as a TV talk show host.
