The Oral-B Dual Clean Power Vitality Electric Toothbrush: Product Review

Aaron Conor
Many electric toothbrushes claim to do a fantastic job of cleaning your teeth; however, they also can put quite a strain on your wallet. Fortunately, there are some electric toothbrushes that do a good job but don't cost a fortune. The Oral-B Dual Clean Power Vitality is a perfect example of this.

Overview -

The Oral-B Vitality electric toothbrush is a simple yet effective way to clean your teeth. There are two brush heads for this toothbrush. One brush head rotates, and the other one moves in the standard "up and down" motion. The bristles are fairly soft, but they do a good job at cleaning your teeth and gums. As for how the toothbrush operates, it's really simple.

You have one button to turn on the toothbrush, and one button to turn it off. After two minutes of brushing your teeth, the brush will rapidly slow down and speed up for about two seconds. It does this so you know that it has been two minutes, which is the minimum time that most dentists say you should brush. Unlike more expensive electric toothbrushes, you don't have to take the toothbrush apart and clean it (just wash it off after you're done). All you have to do is keep it charged, and change the brush heads every three months.

Cost -

Here's one of the nicer aspects about this electric toothbrush; it only costs around twenty to thirty dollars. A three pack of brush heads will cost about thirty dollars (retail price). True, you can find cheaper electric toothbrushes; however, those toothbrushes will probably require batteries. And since the Oral-B Vitality comes with its own charger, you don't have to worry about running out of power while you're brushing your teeth.

Accessories & Warranty -

There are not many accessories that come bundled with this electric toothbrush. Basically, all you receive is the electric toothbrush and a charger (a brush head too). But this is all you really need. As for a warranty, the Oral-B Vitality comes with a two year protection plan. If your toothbrush should stop working in those first two years of use, you'll receive another one for free. Hold on to your defective toothbrush because you'll need to send it back. The Oral-B company will ship you your new toothbrush via the mail, and they should supply you with the correct postage for you to return your damaged item to them. The phone number for Oral-B's customer support is 1-800-566-7252, or you can use one of their forms on their website. As always, remember to ask your dentist about this toothbrush before you buy it.

Electric toothbrushes are nothing new, but the cost has always caused people to shy away from them. Fortunately, decent electric toothbrushes now exist that will keep your teeth and gums clean at a reasonable price. And this toothbrush is one of them.
