Every year The Oregon Zoo presents it's lecture season, which consists of wildlife lectures on animal conservation, restoration, human-wildlife relations, living with wildlife in the urban settings and many other topics of interest.

Photography classes are presented every year at the Oregon Zoo for those amateurs and professionals alike. All persons are welcome to these wildlife photography classes. Learn how to take those true to life photos of moving, stationary, and expressive animals of our world.

Yearly volunteers include not only adults but also the ZooTeens program. Teens who choose and are accepted can participate in volunteer adventures throughout The Oregon Zoo. The Oregon Zoo is proud of it's involvement with the Teen program and their assistance in helping local teens grow in their public speaking skills, education, meeting new friends and with teens supervising teens in this program they all learn how to be better people in today's world.

Zoolights for Halloween and Christmas are some of the best holiday light events in the entire State of Oregon. Each year the entire Oregon Zoo is decorated with literally thousands of lights for the Halloween and Christmas season.

March at The Oregon Zoo is always a month to celebrate the birthday of Oregon Zoo's famous Packy, at 48 years old in 2010 Packy is one of the most celebrated residents of The Oregon Zoo.

The summer months at The Oregon Zoo opens up the Summer Concert Series each and every year. Spectators gather on the lawn ready to listen to each summer's series. Music and food along with twilight and friends what more could visitors and travelers to the Portland area want.

The Oregon Zoo has an event for each month of the year and for literally hundreds of events and activities. Summer sees the Kids Zoo Camps beginning for children of all ages. Spending a week at summer camp affords children of all walks of life to learn about the animals of our world, conservation, and the future needs of those who share our lands.

    I love zoos, and going to the Erie Zoo with my grands is a blast, even tho it's a small one. Portland's Zoo sounds fantastic!
