The Original Blue

A Poem

Etienne J. Sarfelli
You don't know what my car looks like
though it's parked in your driveway sometimes
You never ask any questions about my day
for fear I might actually answer
We are lovers (in the nighttime) when I come into your room
when you pull me close and hold me for a while
And then I leave with a hug goodbye
no parting words are spoken; we are strangers again
And I drive away in the car you've never seen
