The business was started back in 1980s and was closed down a few years later, only to be reopened recently by the original owner's sons. Since it's been back in business, locals prefer Landolfi's to any other local deli, mostly because of their personal service, but also because that personal touch is delivered through their food as well. Each and every item you purchase from Landolfi's is clearly made with a little extra tender loving care.
Stopping by for cold cuts is a must, they offer only Boar's Head, which is a fabulous name brand, and they carry everything from turkey and bologna, to sharp cheddar cheeses. They also feature their own homemade brand of both albacore tuna and roast beef.
For a great lunch, stop by Landolfi's for a sandwich. They have an amazing selection; my favorite includes The Sinatra, made with Genoa Salami, peppered ham, crumbled sharp provolone cheese, and fresh veggies of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions and it's seasoned with olive oil, vinegar and oregano before being served on a super fresh Italian roll. It seriously is heaven on a roll!
The Gloria is my mother's favorite pick: it's made with sautéed spinach, fresh mozzarella cheese, proscuitto, red wine vinegar and olive oil, again served on their fabulous Italian bread. My husband and son really love The Capisce sandwich, made with sliced chicken, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers and olive oil.
Landolfi's also serves a nice selection of wraps; a favorite in my family is the Buffalo Chicken with Pesto Spread wrap. The freshness of the basil in the pesto paired with the spicy buffalo sauce really makes for an interestingly delicious meal. They also carry Panini Sandwiches, which are absolutely wonderful; the Foccachia bread they use makes for the perfect sandwich when grilled. In my opinion, the best Panini sandwich is The Burg, a salute to Chambersburg, NJ; it's served with chicken, red peppers, provolone cheese and a super tasty roasted garlic mayonnaise.
If you were trying to cut back on carbohydrates, one of Landolfi's salads would be a good choice for you. Their Scoop Salad is equally as delicious as any of their sandwiches, it's your choice of chicken, seafood or tuna salad served on a bed of romaine lettuce. But to get a taste of many of Landolfi's fabulous cold cuts, try their Antipasto, it's full of salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone cheese, olives, tomatoes, peppers and hard-boiled eggs.
Recently, Landolfi's started serving breakfast as well. They offer six fantastic breakfast sandwiches to chose from, and any one of them would be a great way to start your day. Their scrambled egg and pork roll sandwich is my family's favorite, although sometimes we share that and their Belly Buster, which is a tempting choice as it's a pouch full of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage and pork roll. Tasty!
No matter what you chose at Landolfi's, you'll leave feeling well taken care of. The staff is so incredibly friendly; it's such a rare treat in today's society. You can't go wrong by ordering one of their fabulous sandwiches, or by getting a few selections of their cold cuts to take home and make your own meal.
