Presidential Not So Hopefuls
Dennis Kucinich: This William H. Macy lookalike currently represents the 10th District of Ohio. Now, I was going to make a few jokes about Fargo and rip this guy a new one, but after a little research I found that I really like the guy! Ralph Nader once praised him by calling him " a genuine progressive". If you have Nader's support than you must be at least one part socialist. Kucinich wants a cabinet level Department of Peace, universal health care, environment renewal and signing of the Kyoto Protocol, ending the war on drugs, legalizing same sex marriages, and FREE pre-school and kindergarten. This guy has no chance of winning the Democratic nomination but he is a breath of fresh air.
"Average" Joe Schriner: Joe Schriner is an independent candidate from Bluffton, Ohio. He has no chance of winning. 0%. ut this guy has more heart than all the other candidates combined. He ran for president in 2000 and 2004. This was after about 8 years of traveling the U.S. trying to find ways to help communities. Average Joe has a number of policies that seem strange: amnesty for illegals, heavy focus on agriculture, walkable communities, and helping Native Americans. He said, "We think the country was built on ethnic cleansing, and we've never owned up to that." Average Joe is just a country bumpkin having a good time. He gets to tell all of his drinkin' buddies that he is running for president. They must think he is real cool.
Steve Kubby: Kubby loves cannabis. He loves it so much he can't live without it. Seriously, he really can't. He has had adrenal cancer for a long time and the only thing to have effectively controlled his cancer has been marijuana. This sounds weird but when he was taken off of medical marijuana he got severely ill and almost died. He is running on the Libertarian Party ticket and to no surprise his big issue has been ending the war on drugs. Other issues include an end of government discrimination based on sexual orientation, requiring the military to go green, open immigration, elimination of gun laws, and a veto of any new tax increases. If this man wins we will all smoke cannabis at a gay wedding while illegal immigrants with guns man tanks with little flowers on them.
Here's to the little guy
While voting for these people may seem like a waste, voting for the candidate that represents your views is the most important thing. If people just vote for the major, funded candidates then we will never see a change in American politics and our real voice will never be heard. Make sure to do some of your own research and take an active role in electing our officials.
