Shooting 16 under par, Phil Mickelson swung his way into the records book at the 2010 Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia on April 11, 2010. At about 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Phil Mickelson sunk the putt that placed him at 16 under par to win. Not so closely behind him was Lee Westwood with 13 under par. Following Westwood, Anthony Kim had 12 under. Tied in fourth and fifth places were K.J. Choi and Tiger Woods with 11 under par. Fred Couples trailed behind in 6th place with 9 under par.

Mickelson's Celebration

Upon sinking the putt on the 18th hole, Phil Mickelson jubilantly threw his arms into the air. Next, he set off with great deliberation heading into the crowd. Mickelson's wife, Amy and their three children, Amanda, Sophia, and Evan, waited. Phil Mickelson took Amy into his arms, enveloping her in the most giant, enduring hug ever. He whispered into her ear, no doubt it was something very special. They kissed. Then Amy pulled Mickelson in closer to embrace him even longer. Tears streamed down Phil Mickelson's cheek. As they broke their embrace, Mickelson's children moved in close to him. Phil Mickelson hugged them briefly before heading toward the Clubhouse.

It's been a tough year for Phil Mickelson. His mother, Mary and his wife, Amy are both battling breast cancer. In fact, Amy didn't show on the golf course on the last day of the Masters' (today) until the last few holes remained. The media announced her arrival and all in attendance seemed pleased she arrived.
