The Outfit is a third person action game. You play as the squadron leader and you get to order around your troops. You have your choice of three squadron leaders, each with his own unique skills. You play through 12 missions that range from reconnaissance and rescue and search and destroy.
Each time you complete a mission, you get action points that are used to upgrade your military needs. These upgrades include: tanks, machine gun nests, weapons, air strikes, artillery strikes, anti-tank emplacements, and more. (The tank with the flame thrower is my favorite)! Sounds simple enough right?
Simple but flawed. The controls are just plain irritating. You also cannot lose. If you die, you just respawn at an earlier point on the field. You are literally invincible. Some of you may like this, while others will find this annoying as it is not challenging. The levels are repetitive, but aside from this, the game is still quite fun. It is full of explosions, destruction, nonstop action, and of course crushing the Nazis! In The Outfit, you literally win WWII for us all!
Graphic wise, the game is descent looking. The soundtrack is also quite good as is the voice acting. The best part of the sound involves the constant bangs and booms coming from the destruction you lay forth.
Other than the single player mode is the XBOX live multiplayer mode available online. Here you can play a co-op mode that is quite engaging.
The Outfit is available on XBOX 360. It has an ESRB rating of M for mature. This is because the game features blood, gore, violence, and language. It is not suitable for you "little ones." A strategy guide is available for anyone who actually needs help with the game.
