The Outside Girl

Will A. Bradford Jr.

She is the goddess
The divine
A savior
Someday and later
That first flavor
For her heart hides
Beneath breasts and bodice

She is the angel
The star in the sky
Mountains peek
Yet I seek
Humble and meek
But she's so high
From Heaven dangles

She is the princess
The new queen bound
A treasure
Such pleasure
For me never
Yet the girl I found
No not yet

She is the warrior
Not target or shooter
But arrow
And this fellow
Has been laid low
Yet I never knew her
Boy meets girl

She is a girl
The pretty
For what else
Can I tell?
I have failed
One of many
In this world

Because what's inside
I never reached
Though I tried

So I derive
What love is?
From the outside

And I love the girl
