The Overtyme Grille Tap Room in Waterford, Michigan

I needed to find a place in Waterford, Michigan to host my sister's bridal shower. My mother-in-law suggested Overtyme Grille Tap Room, located at 4724 Dixie Highway. I had never been there, so I made the reservations at this sport's bar based on her recommendation.

When I pulled up to Overtyme, I was surprised to see such a large building. I walked inside and immediately spotted the bar in the center of the restaurant. Big screen televisions cover the walls at Overtyme and a medium sized dance floor is just off the bar.

We were lead to a table that was away from the rest of the patrons. This was great! I had been worried about being in a noisy bar and not being able to hear what anyone said. This wasn't the case as Overtyme was nearly empty when we were there a little after noon.

My sister is a very picky eater, which is why we chose Overtyme. Cheese pizza is one of her favorite foods, so I ordered 3 pizzas for our group-cheese, pepperoni, and Overtyme's version of a supreme pizza.

I had a slice of each kind of pizza. I enjoyed them all! Even my picky sister ate her cheese pizza without complaint. We took the leftovers back to my mother-in-law's house for my husband and daughter to eat. My daughter really loved the breadsticks.

The only thing that really annoyed me was that I felt rushed. The wait staff kept appearing at our table even when it was obvious that our drinks were full and we were in the middle of a conversation. At one point, the bus boy started clearing our table while we were still seated. Granted, we were there for over 2 hours, but the place was nearly deserted. They did not need the table.

One of the guests came back from the bathroom and announced they found a game room in the back. My sister and mother were pretty excited to hear there was ski ball. So, we moved the party back to the game room.

There are several arcade style games in the game room at Overtyme. My sister and her friend enjoyed playing ski ball and air hockey. There were also several children in the game room when we were there. The games spit out tickets that you can redeem for prizes.

If given the opportunity, I will eat at Overtyme Grille Tap Room again. The food was good and the atmosphere is fun. I probably wouldn't want to be there during the middle of the "big game", but popping in for lunch would be perfect.
