The Pain of an Empath

3 Short Thoughts

S. M. Bendock
I had a friend once
it hurt so much to touch,
just to touch, to feel the pain he carried locked inside
the broken state in which his soul
forced itself to reside
just to touch him was to cry.

I feel it like a poison,
slowly infecting ever inch of me,
the evil of the world, the meanness pain turns in the spirits.

Will I, would I,
submit myself to a life of sadness,
processing the pain of others?

Ah, *stretch*, a life of ease elludes me. I love people, music, reading, writing, football, and nature. I love to debate and can usually see both sides of any topic.  View profile

Wow very enganging in trying to understand the pain of someone else. I remember hearing a friend of mine cry and I cringed as I felt the pain and despair in her voice.

It's not much fun to feel the pain of a loved one is it? I hope your friend finds some positive relief.
