The Deep Covered Baker is safe for use in the microwave, freezer, and oven. It should be hand washed only, and is not recommended for cleaning in the dishwasher. It's a very versatile kitchen tool because it can hold up to a 5 pound chicken or a 4 pound roast.
In these trying economic times, saving money is a concern. The Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker's got you covered with many different recipes costing two dollars or less per serving, specifically designed to work in the Deep Covered Baker. What sold me was the fact than a Pork Tenderloin could be fully cooked with incredible taste in 8 minutes... in the microwave! I wanted it for my personal kitchen, in addition to being able to show it off at my shows. When I started as a consultant in April, I knew it was something I would get right away, and at the end of my 90 days in July, I ordered it for free.
Do you already have the Deep Covered Baker? Here are some tips to help you use it to its fullest potential:
- Do not expose to extreme changes in temperature, as this could cause thermal shock and cause it to break. This is true of all Stoneware products.
- Thaw any dense frozen food before baking it in the Stoneware.
- Spread food evenly, and ensure at least 2/3 of the stone surface is covered in food to avoid thermal shock.
- Wash in hot water, without soap. Scrape excess foods with a kitchen brush or the handy scraper.
Though $69 may seem a little steep, the time you'll save preparing recipes will definitely make it worth the purchase. There's nothing better than having sturdy, dependable, high quality products in the kitchen. Remember, show hosts never pay full price. If you've hosted a show in the past year with any Pampered Chef Consultant, you've got a 10% discount you could use to add this wonderful piece of Stoneware to your collection.
