The Panic Sequence

You are in the middle of a store, you get a feeling rush over you, you want to cry scream and look for the nearest exit to escape. To escape this feeling to run from what is bothering you, but what is it where you are running to and what are you really running from. Hundreds and thousands of people live with this everyday. According to the numbers count the "Incidence extrapolations for USA for Anxiety disorder: 4,624,000 per year, 385,333 per month, 88,923 per week, 12,668 per day, 527 per hour, 8 per minute, 0 per second."

This it he everyday occurrences for people that get to experience the annoyances and the symptoms of what people call extreme anxiety and or panic attacks. Many people with panic attacks end up as a patient in the emergency room because the panic attack can mock many other health concerns including but not limited to stroke, heart attack, and even low blood sugar.

According to anxietypanic.com "One out of every 75 people worldwide will experience a panic attack at one time in their lives.

Most people are treated daily with medications that induce serotonin into the brain, aiding in the "control" of the attacks severity and occurrences. Mediations usually are something like Prozac or Paxil that can work all day and then something else like Xanax, Klonopin, or some other medication that can assist the patient during a sudden attack that paralyzes them. Most people state that panic attacks can be control with therapy and medication, some states even believe the panic attacks are so disabling for people that they allow them to collect social security disability checks monthly because of the attacks.

If this was not bad enough by itself, other conditions tend to associate with this debilitating condition. OCD or Obsessive compulsive disorder, Phobias such as agoraphobia, Social Phobias, PSTD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and GAD Generalized Anxiety Disorder, to name just a handful.

Famous people like Oprah Winfrey, Howie Mandel, Courtney Love, Johnny Depp,Howard Stern, all share the realization that they hat panic attacks, and the list of famous people just goes on and on.

Millions of people write about it, in poems, journals, and stories each day. There an hundreds of songs that are written regarding it however some people are to upset to tell other people that their song came from a real life event. Derek Johnson from the rock band Forever suffers from panic attacks. He wrote the following song "Breathe" about his journey with panic disorder and has kindly agreed to allow us to use this song as the theme song for anxietypanic.com.

If you have Panic Attacks please I know the feeling that you think you are going crazy, you need to know that you are not alone. There are many people out there that have what you have, we have all went through the motions and feelings more than one time. There are support groups, online groups and so much more. Keep your chin up; you are just 1 of the 3 and 6 million Americans affected by this, sucks to be the 1%.
