The Parisian: My New York dream burger

The burger of my dreams

David Slate
Every once in a while you find that special thing. You know what I'm talking about. That perfect addition to your life that seems to make it extra special, or at least give you something to look forward to. For some it's that great pair of jeans, for others it's that rare cigar. For me, it's a particular food, and not just any food, but the greatest sandwich ever invented. You must have figured that I'm talking about the great American hamburger. All right, so it's not completely American in origins, but American cheese is American, though I'll also admit to being more of a Swiss cheese kind of guy.

Living in Manhattan allows residents to have 24-hour access to a fully international smorgasbord of some of the world's finest (and not so fine) cuisine, and I have definitely had my fare share of burgers. My menu selection of choice for one of every five meal outings or deliveries, I've tasted them all. The big ones, the small ones, the great ones and the ones that make your mouth dry rather than water. And though the selection of great burgers can be found around many corners, I keep going back to one in particular in Manhattan's SoHo district. A tiny yet inviting atmosphere makes Burger Creations more than just another stylish burger joint. And their menu selection is a perfect composition of variety done with simplicity. You can take a glimpse at www.BurgerCreations.com. One "special" burger in particular makes my life feel a little more complete. I'll tell you why.

First, it's called the Parisian, and you can't get any tastier sounding than that. Second, the bun is a crusty brioche slightly grilled, and we all know how much first impressions count. Third, did someone say blue cheese? And not the creamy dressing kind. Fourth, bacon ... need I say more? Fifth, the perfectly charcoal-grilled quarter-pound burger with zesty peppercorns smothered in creamy French dressing. Wow, I can't believe I got through that without calling in an order. Actually, I just had one about an hour ago.

You can find this food masterpiece at 52 E. Eighth St. in Manhattan. If you're lucky enough to live in their delivery area, then you can call 212-539-1909. How you decide to get your food is up to you, just be sure to get the French fries and onion rings. I cannot stress that enough.
