I hear people say all of the time that they want to help make the future a better and brighter place, and they will start with the here and now. I also hear people say they would like to change so many things about their past.
Guess what folks there is absolutely no way to change your past. It is over, gone, and never to return. Let it go. Do not look back. Keep going forward. Live your life in the here and now. Forget it. You cannot in no way no how ever change your past. I am sorry to tell you that, but it is true. There are no time machines to take you back, no magic spell will correct a past mistake, and no genie is going to appear and grant you the wish of changing your past.
Alright, now that I have told you to forget the past what do you do now? You live each second, minute, hour, day, week, month, and year as if it is your last. Yes, that is a very old cliché that is repeated over and over. Yet, the more people say it the less people seem to heed to it. Do you know that right now you could be reading the last thing you will ever read? I am so very sorry folks if I just scared the "heebie jeebies" out of you. And I hate to sound like a Grim Reaper. The truth hurts does it not? So what do you do? I just told you, live each second, minute, hour, day, week, month, and year like it is your last. Take advantage of the fact that you woke up this morning. I do not care if it is 110 degrees or there is 15 feet of snow on the ground. Soak up some sun or build a snowman. Whatever God has given you to work with then by golly work with it. Hey our lives are like we are on a stage. Guess what, we only get one performance before the final curtain comes down. So we had better make it our best ever performance.
Now let us go on to the future. Actually we cannot go on to the future since there is no way we know for sure there will be one. Oh sure, we can set appointments and meetings and decide what we will do next week. Guess what, we can plan and set and decide all we want to. But if we are not meant to be here for that meeting or appointment or what ever, we will not be. Just like the past, we cannot change what is going to happen in the future. We can do all we can today to try and make the world a better place and hopefully make the future brighter. But we will never be able to control the future. In fact we cannot control what is happening right now.
Where am I going with this you may ask? Well, if you can answer the question "Where will I go when I die" and be 100% certain about it, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have to stop and think, you had better think again about your life. You get one of two choices when you take that final bow in this world. Will you sing with the angels or die with the evil. You do not get any say so what-so-ever about your future. You do have a say so about where you will be in the future...even if the future is the next second. It is your choice.
