I visit many Dog parks in my area and if you want a great place to bring your dog the place to go is The Paw Patch Dog Park located in Newhall Community Park in Concord, California. The park is located west of Ayres Road and north of Turtle Creek Road. The total area of Newhall Community Park is 126 acres with approximately one acre set aside for The Paw Patch Dog Park.
During my walks to Newhall Community Park from my home I visit The Paw Patch to visit with the owners and their dogs. My dog passed away in July 2009 and although I do not current have a dog I love visiting with those who do.
Of all the dog parks I visited The Paw Patch is the best one I have experienced. The reasons I enjoy The Paw Patch include:
The City of Concord keeps The Paw Patch in great condition. The area is clean, the fence is secure, and the grass is well maintained.
During my visits I find it easy to strike up a conversation with any owner. They love to talk about their dog and explain the love they have for their pet. All the owners and their dogs are friendly.
There is a strict rule that dogs must be kept on a leash except when they are inside The Paw Patch and there is the policy that any dogs showing aggression will be immediately removed.
In the years I have visited The Paw Patch I have never experienced a fight between dogs or owners. The maximum number of dogs I saw in The Paw Patch on one of my visits was around 50 dogs plus owners. When you take into account the number of dogs and their owners in an enclosure and no aggressive incidents occur that is a tribute to The Paw Patch Dog Park.
The Paw Patch is approximately one acre of space set aside for the Dog Park and it is completely fenced. The enclosure is divided into two sections which are commonly referred to as The Small Dog Are and the Large Dog Area.
The small dog area is approximately 40 feet by 30 feet in size. The large dog area is approximately 200 feet by 90 feet in size. Both areas share a common outer fence with another fence separating the small dog area from the large dog area. The entrance to The Paw Patch is convenient for the owners and takes into account the safety of the dogs.
There are repeated comments from dog owners about The Paw Patch which I would like to share. Commonly heard statements from owners on why The Paw Patch is preferred over other dog parks in the area include:
The no aggressive dog policy. The friendliness of owners and their dogs. Physical condition and cleanliness of The Paw Patch. Easy access to parking lots from Turtle Creek Road and Newhall Parkway.
If you want to visit the best Dog Park, and if you want to see happy and cheerful owners and dogs, please visit The Paw Patch in Newhall Community Park in Concord, California.
