The Peace I'm Thankful For

willie sims
I sat in quiet solitude
And heard not there a sound
Except the peaceful babbling brook
And the wisping wind's soft song
The peace that filtered through my soul
Swept the weariness away
and I said a silent prayer
and thanked the Lord that day
Despite the storm all around
The Lord had given peace
and a sweet and tranquil rest
that only His love brings
No matter what my circumstance
or what I have to face
I know that I can find peace and rest
When on Him my troubles I place
Of all the things I've ever had
Of all the things I've known
The thing that I'm most thankful for
Is He never leaves me alone
