The Peace Treaty

A Short Story (Prose)

Tameko Barnette
Willow's spirit stood at the podium; her Higher Self hovering above. Her inner child seated beside her Self.

"Body, mind, and heart, will you please stand with me?"

"I stand with you," they said. And then they, including Willow's higher self said in unison.

"With this treaty, we agree to stand together as One regardless of any situation that may come our way. We agree to stand in alignment as One when making decisions, being still, and in movement. We agree to stand together as One regardless of any individuals who choose not to walk with us. We agree to stand together as One when we have to part ways with any individuals for our highest good. We agree to stand in alignment as One in the midst of transitions, transformations, and changes at all times to ensure the certainty of balance and harmony. We agree to love each other all ways. We agree to stand in the light of truth together and we know that all is truly well in our world. We hereby sign this treaty with a language and energy called LOVE...we are ONE."

Willow opened her eyes. The meditation was complete. She smiled. She cried tears of joy. Then, she played one of her favorite songs, Stay with You by John Legend. She sang this song to her whole self. And they danced a beautiful, slow joyful dance together.
