The Perfect Anniversary Gifts for Women

Heather Wood
Are you thinking about what to give your wife on your anniversary? Are you planning to attend an anniversary celebration, but still unsure of what gift to give? You might want to consider using your imagination and creativity to make a gift as unique as the person you're giving it to.

True, there may be a lot of impressive gift items available for purchase from stores and even through online shopping -- flowers, chocolates, jewelry, and almost anything money can buy. But, more often than not, even the simplest things we do or make can already mean so much. Far more precious than the most expensive gift we can afford to get are the gifts made with love and often, these homemade gifts are the ones most appreciated and highly treasured.

The kind of gift would depend on or suit a woman's personality. So, if she's the type who would be thrilled to receive jewelry, you can at least try to forget the usual ready-made ones and go for personalized pieces crafted and designed just for her.

For the woman who loves to cook, an apron with cute hand painted (by you) designs will do nicely. If not that, a decorated photo album with pages filled with favorite recipes will no doubt create a unique cookbook she would surely appreciate.

If she's into gardening, try giving her a beribboned basket filled with an assortment of seeds, plants, and gardening tools. Other gift ideas are ornamental fountains and birdbaths.

Some of the homemade items that might deeply touch the special woman in your life:

A poem

A song

A soothing massage

Romantic dinner

Offering to do housework for a weekend -laundry, cooking, and cleaning

The husband could also give up watching sports on TV and instead watch a weepy "chick flick" with her.If she's a nostalgic person, how about giving her a scrapbook filled with old wedding, anniversary or romantic photos, old cards and letters that are memorable to both of you? If you can't make a scrapbook, make a collage of all your most memorable moments together as captured on old photographs.

For those who have kids, just think of what a nice treat it would be to drop the kids off at Grandma's for the night and then spend the entire evening doing what the woman likes most. If she likes the bright lights and action, an evening of dancing, going to a concert or a musical might be very enjoyable for her.

If a woman is more of a homebody and a true-blue romantic, a nice surprise for her would be candlelight dinner at home complete with flowers and romantic music playing in the background.

Other gift ideas include:

Personalized t-shirts and mugs

A charcoal painting of her or of the two of you

Tiny gift baskets filled with cookies, chocolates, a greeting card, and a stuffed toy/teddy bear

A trip for two or a weekend get-away/vacationWhatever it is you decide to give that special woman in your life, make sure it comes with love. Of course, the one thing you must never forget is to say "I love you" because a woman does need to hear those words on her anniversary.
