That's right, you heard me, Avon is our job. We as representatives put in several hours each day to prove to
our customers just how much they mean to us. One of the things that I do to show my customers how much I appreciate there loyalty and business is to hold a Holiday Open House.
I start my preparations early, as early as January of the following year. By doing so, it helps me to ensure that I don't miss a thing. To me this is the most important step, because without our customers, there would not be a AVON.
Below you will see my top ten tips, that help me get ready for my Avon Holiday Open House.
1. Start your preparations as early as possible, this includes your guest list. Remember to invite all of your Avon customers and ask them to bring a friend, you never know when that friend may become a customer.
2. Through out the year, start buying your AVON that you will use as door prizes, gifts and more. Remember to order enough brochures and order them as soon as you can.
3. Plan a light menu, depending on the time of your open house, you may want to offer a heavier type meal, such as sandwiches and chips. I always offer punch, bottled water and coffee.
4. Advertise your Avon Holiday Open House several times, but remember to uphold Avon's TOS. When doing so. You can find a copy of these TOS, on line or in your AVON agreement.
5. Send out your invitations 1 month prior to your Open House, and then two weeks before the event, send out a friendly post card to remind everyone. This is also true for emails, Facebook announcements and other ways. Again, remember to invite even those you think won't come. It's been my experience that if they see Avon and Door Prizes, They are there!
6. The morning of your big event, start early, this will help with any nerviness that you might have. It will also allow you to set up properly and give you time to put those final touches on everything. I also suggest that you cover your display areas with a solid color tablecloth, this allows the customer to see the items much easier and it also draws attention to the items.
7. I suggest having lots of cash and carry items, people are usually more eager to buy if the product is in front of them to see, smell and touch. Offer discounts for multiply items purchased, or an order over a certain amount. Offer items such as hand creams, shower gels and jewelry as your door prizes. Always attach a business card with your full details. I also put a card on the prize that says. "Refer a Friend and Receive 10% your Next Purchase.
8. Play a game. Everyone loves a game and there are so many out there today that can adapt to Avon topics. My favorite being the slogan game. Offer a prize to the winner and thanks them for there enthusiasm.
9. Be available to your guests as soon as they start arriving. Make sure everyone has a current brochure and any insert brochures that may currently be running. Talk with your guests answer their questions, but do not seem forward. Point out certain items, ask them what there favorite AVON items are, and why. KNOW YOUR GUESTS
10. Have Fun! Yes, that's what I mean. Enjoy the day, feel confident in yourself you did great. When your guest begin to leave, remind them when the order will be in, and let them know the day you will deliver. I also suggest that if a order is over $75.00, that you collect a small deposit.
