The "Perfect Brownie Pan Set" is Not so Perfect!

It Shows You Should Not Believe Everthing "As Seen on TV"

ashlee thacker
Let me start off by saying you really cannot believe everything you see on TV. This article is about my personal opinion on the "As seen on TV" product called Perfect Brownie. You are able to purchase them at most retail stores such as, Walmart, CVS, Walgreen's, Alco, and of course on TV.. The cost of Perfect Brownie is about $19.99+tax. The pan itself is very small, to where it only makes 18 individual little 1in.x1in. "Perfect Brownies".

The Perfect Brownie Pan Set comes with a divider, bottom insert, pan, rack, recipe guide and 9 stencils. Do not waste your time trying to decorate the brownies with the stencils. You make a bigger mess and honestly you cannot even tell what there are. When the brownies rise as they bake individually the tops of them round off. Well, the stencils they give you are a flat piece of plastic. If the brownies were to rise up and flatten out they might work but like the rest of the product it does not.

It is more trouble than what it is worth but I still use the Perfect Brownie Pan Set only since my daughter has fun doing it. To get started with the brownies you must first grease the pan. Either with the spray or some Crisco which ever you prefer. Then to make them easy to come out you still need to flour the pan plus the divider. The divider itself has 54 sides needed to be greased and floured. Afterward, when that is completed you need to find a cookie sheet to set it on. The bottom of the pan leaks out brownie mix everywhere.

As it comes out of the oven you will have to pull the Perfect Brownie pan off of the cookie sheet so it does not stick. The next step is to pull the divider out which sticks any way so all the brownies rip apart. You know how it looks like when it is done by hand trying to take the first brownie out. Once you have taken out the divider set the pan on the serving tray and push down. Finally, before the brownies cool you might want to scoop up the brownies and set them on your own tray or a plate. Since the bottom insert actually is baked into the bottom of the brownies. If you let them cool on the insert then you will just have to eat around it.

You can use Perfect Brownie Pan Set for more than just brownies though. As it comes with a recipe guide that has 12 recipes for other snacks to make. So my personal review on this product is do not buy it. It is just as easy to make brownies the old fashion way. I just love where they came from so I will not get rid of them. On my birthday, husband and mother-in-law both bought one for me. It was just priceless to see their faces when they both handed me the same gift.

I bought a Perfect Brownie Pan about a month ago. I love it and I use it all the time. I use the brownie mix that you buy at the store like Betty Crocker. I have never had a problem with it leaking and if you spray it with cooking spray to grease it, the brownies do not stick. You just have to remember to put the pan on a cookie sheet before placing it in the oven or it will leak. I have always had great results with this product everytime. I love it!

I really like the Perfect Brownie.

Pros: the even servings it makes. Easy to use. Watch different catalogs/ads for price: I didn't want to pay $19.99 so waited till I found it for $14.99 in a catalog. I've used it twice w/2 different brands brownie mix. Both turned out very well. To the person who said it "always leaked" I say that is going to depend on the consistancy of the mix you use. Great the way you can set it on the stand (when brownies are cooled) and then drop the sides of the pan down, making removal really easy.

Cons: It claims to make each brownie just like an "edge" piece but I wish that part worked just a little better.

IMPORTANT TIP: Pay close attention to the directions and you'll do fine. Best to use the spray coatings (instead of manually coating w/butter or Crisco) Someone recommended the spray coating w/flour, which is probably an excellent idea.

    I really like the product.

I bake ALOT...and have for over 40 years. I use vegetable oil and flour on my pans, depending on what I am baking. I have seen the perfect brownie maker in action. I don't like it...but to each their own. That is why this article is in the Opinion and Editorial category.

thanks for your 2 cents it gives me 2 cents!!

Many different results. Anyone who bakes a lot never uses vegetable oil to grease any kind of baking pan. Also, spray WITH flour is wonderful. I had a bakery. I know. I'm old enough to remember ice trays made the same way. Do you care if your brownies are square or round? Use a muffin/cupcake pan. Crispy edges and no fuss. Just my two cents.

I used this pan today and it worked so good I blogged about it. No leaks, no sticking.
    See my blog about it.

The picture is deceptive it looks like a 9x13 pan and it is not. Why did they not make it that size. You can not use batter from the store. It will not fit the pan. even the receipe that comes with it is too much batter.
