The Perfect Card

Tracy Jackson
The perfect card is a task
To express the words so true
That it is oh so good
To fellowship with those like you.

I search within the box of cards
Which proved to be very hard
So I grabbed a pen
And chose the words of my heart

Thank you for your visit
While I was on my sick bed.
Thank you for the get well cards
That you carefully read

thank you for your daily calls
To make sure all was well
Thank you for your rescue
When recovery was feeling like jail

How could I thank everyone
Well, I got this cute surprise
Indulge with me, take your arm
Stretch it wide and close your eyes

Now make the other a twin
Cross your right to your left
Cross your left to your right
Now squeeze real tight

Open your eyes, don't you feel good
This is my hug to each of you
For God blessed me well
With friends like you

So here is my living card
A testimony of sorts
Making sure
I arrived back safely at health's port.
