The Perfect Christmas Gift

This year I got the one of the best Christmas presents ever. I had only asked for one thing this Christmas. I really wasn't expecting it since it was a very expensive piece of jewelry. I have a love for cross necklaces, and the only thing I had asked for was a Trinity Cross necklace. I saw one in a local jewelry store and I fell in love with it. Being a single mom, buying such an elaborate piece of jewelry was out of the question.

I have always had a cross necklace, and my most recent necklace broke two weeks before Christmas. This was a borrowed necklace as well. I borrowed it from my mother until I could find a new one of my own.

I had mentioned to my sister back in October that I had seen a Trinity Cross necklace I really liked at a local jewelry store. I asked if she would help me find a similar piece of jewelry on EBay. I knew she had purchased jewelry online before, and she was more experienced than I was about finding the perfect piece. She agreed to help so we started looking.

It appeared that I was not going to get my necklace. We searched and searched to find the necklace. When she found the one like I wanted, it was either too expensive, or not the right color gold. Mostly they were all way too expensive. I was looking for a six hundred dollar necklace with a sixty dollar budget.

After finding my way to a church that I am comfortable with this year, this necklace really meant a lot to me. I want everyone to know that God is important in my life. I know that God could care less whether or not I have a Trinity Cross necklace or not, as long as I live by his words. I am not generally of lover of fancy jewelry; there was just something about this necklace that I truly wanted.

Christmas Eve I headed off to visit my sister. I had picked up a special present that reminded me of her. She is a mother of two and always has a child in her arms. I found a hand carved angel carrying a child and I knew it was meant for her. I wanted her to have it before the hustle and bustle of the holiday with the children.

After I gave her the present, she hand me a green velvet box. It was the neatest box I had ever seen. I opened it and inside was my Trinity Cross necklace. I was so excited. It was perfect. It is 10k white gold with the three diamonds representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. It was truly one of the best gifts I had ever received.
