Sunday morning was a little rough and I needed to shake off the cobwebs. I only drink coffee when I absolutely have to and today was one of those days. I was already headed downtown to meet some friends so I figured I would hold off until I could get to Higher Grounds Cafe as several people had recommended the place. It was a great decision.

While I usually write about wines or the latest spirit that is coming out, there is now way that I could not tell the world about the coffee that Higher Grounds Cafe is putting out. The shop itself is a wonderful little hideaway as you slurp down the magical black brew and try to get some work done.

In most coffee houses, everyone is jammed up on each other and you are usually involved in 20 different conversations that you really don't want to hear about. Not here, lots of space and the free wi-fi makes it the perfect morning stop.

The coffee itself was incredible. The main reason I usually don't drink coffee is because I find it incredibly hard to find a good cup. It is either old, burnt, stale or just plain awful. They use only Higher Ground coffee that comes from Alabama of all places. Laugh now, but you will begging for refills after your first cup.
