The Perfect Margarita

Jose Cuervo® You're Still a Friend of Mine!

Sipping a margarita seems to instantly transport you to an island getaway in the Caribbean… whether you like 'em frozen, with salt or without. Many people claim to have "the perfect margarita recipe," so the best way to judge is to try them all. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. Here are some great ones…

Vilis' World's Greatest Margarita. Add to a blender the following ingredients: 1 ½ cups tequila (Jose Cuervo® Gold is a good one), ½ cup Grand Marnier, 1/3 bottle of American beer (no, really!), 1 can frozen lemonade, healthy squirt of Real Lemon, healthy squirt of Real Lime, ½ ice and ½ water to fill up blender, sugar to taste. Blend well, and pour into a lime-rimmed salted margarita cocktail glass. Delish!

Frozen Strawberry Margarita. 1 oz silver tequila, ½ oz triple sec, ½ oz Rose's® lime juice, ¼ oz lemon juice, ½ oz strawberry liqueur. Pour all into a margarita glass (no lime or salt) filled with shaved ice, and serve. Yummy for those who like their fruit with a bite!

Italian Margarita. Having a Sicilian background, I was excited to try this one! Pour 1 oz amaretto almond liqueur, 2 oz sweet and sour mix, ½ oz Jose Cuervo® Especial gold tequila, ½ oz triple sec into a margarita glass and add ice. Ciao Bella!

Even if you're not on some tropical island, margaritas are a fun staple for any party… you can tell when you hear that blender start that the good times are gonna roll. And as long as you're not "rolling" onto the street in your car afterwards, indulge and have a great time! Play around with the ingredients, and you too might create "the perfect margarita."
