The first thing you will notice about this stereo is it has a sleek design and futuristic design that most new electronic appliances have. Have you noticed that electronics are constantly reinventing their style over and over? Well this is definitely a stylish little stereo and the MC235B will definitely look good hanging on your wall. Dropping this stereo might be a problem as it does not look to durable at all because of the thinness of it. You can't really argue with that though, the stereo is definitely made for hanging on a wall. It's only about four inches thick at it's thickest point and can't weigh more then five or six pounds.
The Phillips MC235B has a MP3 player as well so uploading MP3's is possible. The cost of one of these is about $100 dollars, although you might be able to find one for less. The remote is kind of small and flimsy and looks like it could be easily broken or lost, I don't particularly like it that much. Remotes should be bigger and easier to find and durable, this remote really does not look that durable and would just be a horror story to find if it ever got lost. The buttons are also a bit hard to press, it's some kind of attempt at a "new look, cost effective remote" that just isn't cutting it for me.
The sound of the MC235B is definitely louder then you would think it would be for a stereo it's size. This is the case with most stereos these days and the Phillips MC235B is no exception. There is not much control over the sound just the volume and a bass boost, that's about it. That is another thing that could have been better about this unit, but overall it is not bad for a wall unit for your bedroom, living room or basement. I'd give it a 6/10 recommendation for a "wall stereo" and the sound is pretty good for its size, but definitely get something a lot louder for a party.
