The shop works almost like a wholesale store without having to buy in bulk. The middle man is cut out of the purchasing process by being able to buy from the makers of the products directly, almost like a beauty supply shop. It's also a practice similar to what takes place on other websites like Etsy.com that actually works in favor of the customer and the artist.
Here's a quote from the website that explains the simple purchasing process, "If you're interested you can message us with your name and address and how you would like to pay (Qty and Name of Item). We will reply A.S.A.P with a total, We accept Money Order, Paypal and Concealed Cash (at your own risk) As soon as payment is received and cleared, they'll be on their way the next day. Shipping takes 5-8 business days from date of received payment. Sometimes sooner... Happy Shopping...P.S When you get all dolled up make sure to send us pictures of you with your accessories...show the world you're a HAPPY PIRATE DOLL!!!"
The site is as simple as the purchasing process, again which may be part of the reason why prices can be so low. You simply go to the "my pics" section of the site to view the products. Each product has a serial number, and this is what you use to make an order. It's an interesting experiment in Myspace.com commerce, and acts as a commentary about the still-existing differences regarding what can be done on Myspace.com versus the simpler Facebook.com and Twitter.com
The shop encourages people who purchase anything from them to send in a picture to be displayed on the site. They also take applications for models from anyone, with a few stipulations, namely that the pictures be taken by a professional. These participation-oriented practices create a kind of unique brand-loyalty to the site.
I've ordered from them twice, and been pleased with the products I received both times. In each case, the products arrived within three days of my order, which is more than I can say for anything I've ever ordered from Amazon.com or any other online shops. The products have arrived intact and in good condition, and are still intact after many uses. I ordered a set of red bow, a white flower, and one large red bow, all hair accessories. I would highly recommend the service to anyone looking to buy hair accessories for low prices.
