The Plane Crash

Justin Murphy
Adam Hawthorne, a former NASA astronaut rode on plane to Houston, Texas. Where he planned to give a lecture on safety in aeronautics. Then all of a sudden, he jerked as a the plane went down, and the veins in his neck popped out. He felt the weight of the plane pull him and the passengers down, gripping the arm rests of his seat. Before he knew it, the plane crashed in the water and everyone fought for their lives.
''Help!'' a voice shouted. ''Help!''
Soon, he was out of the plane, and trying to get a few people to safety. Hawthorne dragged them out of the water, back to shore where he did CPR. Each of them appeared to be okay. He went back into the ocean to grab any others out there who might be suffering. Getting as many as he could, he repeated the same process, get them to shore and give them CPR. It appeared to work on all of them.
''Where are we?''
He looked around at the island, wishing he knew the answer to this himself, after hearing one of them ask. The other survivors appeared to be alright, once they got to their feet. Hawthorne went through a jungle, wanting to see more of this place and get a better understanding of where they were. They could all be on an island either in The Atlantic or The Pacific. Texas was in the middle of the two.
That was, if he and others even made it to Texas. There was no way to pinpoint his location so far. Yet he did find a cave in the middle of this jungle. He was stunned to even find it. Maybe it would provide some answer to where they were. Hawthorne did not know, but the only way to find out was to get inside the cave and find out. He tiptoed toward the cave, unsure of what he would find inside.
At his feet, there appeared to be a piece of scripture. He looked down and noticed it was a depiction of Adam and Eve. Hawthorne picked it up, and looked ai it. Something he could not take his eye off of was a star like object depicted in the sky with Adam and Even in The Garden of Eden. He read a potion of it that a described how Adam and Even saw these beings of light in the sky. In all the depictions he saw of Adam and Eve in literature and art, he never heard of such a thing. Much less see a star depicted in the sky.

He entered the cave and saw several markings. One was a depiction of two astronauts, he always heard of ancient astronauts and read about them. Yet he never once thought he would come upon evidence like this. He then looked at a wood carving of a monkey's face. Hawthorne's jaw dropped. Did it have to do with Darwin's theory about the evolution of man. Or was it an indication of something else?
''What is this?''
Could it have something to do with sending monkeys into space? A common practice before the Russians sent up Sputnik and John Glenn orbiting the moon. Hawthorne thought for a second about whether monkeys could traveled in space during an ancient era. He went outside the cave, and picked up the scripture involving Adam and Eve. He went back into the cave and wanted to make the obvious comparison.
He held up the scripture to the cave markings. Were these evidence of ancient astronauts being here? Was this The Garden of Eden? Hawthorne did not know what to make of it. He heard legends and stories about it. Fellow astronauts even joked about it. There was no way to prove, except for these ruins. Hawthorne wanted to believe it was coincidence. Yet this small bit of evidence got him thinking it was more.
As a child, he used to attend Sunday school as his local church. Not once did he hear of Adam and Eve ever seeing a star in the sky. Or one ever being present above The Garden of Eden. They sure would not have taught anything about ancient astronauts or a space monkey being there either. He figured a minister would rather commit the mortal of sin of suicide before preaching a sermon on Evolution.
Turning to his right, Hawthorne spotted an exit to the cave. He had no idea where he would even be led next. Out in the jungle once more, he saw some structure in the distance wondering what it would be. It was not another cave. Since the vertical angle was too large and the horizontal angle of the structure was too narrow to be a cave. He walked further and further across the jungle to discover it was an Egyptian style pyramid.
