Stars die.
And narry a tear
is shed on earth.
And narry a tear
is shed on earth.
Ah, but when a man dies
the cries from earth
resound from one starry nebula to another
to shake the very throne of God.
For when a man is lost
he is very lost.
And he leaves a black hole
blacker than the blackest black hole
in deep space..

Sorry. I've had similar losses twice in the last year or so.
This grief I know,so very beautiful expressed!
Grief expressed so profoundly, Shirley. I am truly sorry for the loss of your brother. He will know how much you feel amd miss him. We still have to live on to complete our journey. Take heart, we all are with you and pray for you - siva
Nice poem.
Grief is hard, there's no doubting that fact.
Good poem. I am grieving the loss of my husband's grandma and helping him work on a eulogy. It is sad, but she is also at peace now.
This is powerful and moving. I didn't recognize your new name at first, but I certainly knew the "voice" of your poetry instantly. Hope to read more from you soon.
Grief is awfully hard waters to wade. I know it's not the same, but I am deeply grieving the passing of my little four-legged buddy. hugs and cheers
very nice Shirley!
