The Political Fleecing of Americans -- How We Are Being Sold Out on a Daily Basis

Have you ever heard anyone say "things were a lot better back then.."? Have you ever heard politicians refer to bringing America back to it's golden days? I hear these types of comments all the time and they usually have an idea of new legislation to follow. Maybe it is time to rid ourselves of useless legislation instead of constantly producing new laws. If you stop and think about it, everything is either illegal and taxed or legal and heavily taxed. If you look back to the fifties, people were actually somewhat free and had the opportunity to flourish in America.

Now look at today, the opportunity is still their BUT....our politicians make it more and more difficult to advance every day. All politicians claim that they want the "little" guy to succeed and make it big. What they don't tell you, is that when you do succeed, you will be punished with huge taxes. Some politicians even believe in a type of wealth re-distribution. From an average guy's perspective, why would I want to work hard to achieve more wealth if someone is just going to take it away? There is no need for wealth re-distribution if we had honest people in office. Just look at the US budget for any year and count up the unbelievable amount of money spent on absolutely worthless programs. The problem is that their is no accountability for government spending. Every program or venture funded by our government should be put up for a vote by the people. The US government should cease funding other countries by 75%. With all of the money we have shelled out to foreign countries, we have seen absolutely no return. Why not? I think it is about time we start collecting on our investments. With the amount of money we have dumped into middle eastern countries, we should take our repayment in crude oil. We would have 50cent a gallon gasoline for years.

Someone needs to go through the budget and cut every non essential program and spending bill that is not directly connected to the operation of government and our country. The main piece of this puzzle is taxes. America was founded on the basis of being over taxed in Europe and look what we have turned into now. Your money should only be taxed ONE TIME and no more. Right now their is state and federal income tax right off of the top. Then if you spend the money that has already been taxed, you are taxed again with sales tax. Then later on in the year you get hit with a property tax. You will pay tax on the gasoline that you need to get to work.....remember this is the $3.00 a gallon gasoline that the government keeps telling us that they will help lower the price. Think about it, if they were serious, they would eliminate the gasoline tax and reduce the price per gallon by over 60cents tomorrow.

Another such example is tobacco. If the politicians really believed that cigarettes were such a health problem, then they would ban them. Instead they opt to increase taxes on them and take more of your money. Global Warming is the next cigarette style cause that will lead to a entire batch of new and heavy taxes that will be directed to you and I. Remember, if the politicians really thought global warming was an imminent threat to this planet, then gasoline engines would be phased out within a few years and ultimately banned. Airliners would not be flying and factories would be shutting down. As you see, that is not the case. They will not outlaw anything that can produce a large tax revenue.

It is time to get some real Americans into office and get this nonsense stopped.
