The Political Game Song

Steven West
Medicare, Medicaid,

Politicians so afraid.

Social Security pledge reform.

Watch out for a major storm.

Global warming go away,

Come again another day.

Unemployment compensation,

Time to take another vacation.

Political decisions, political risks,

All exist on a secret hard disk.

We all see the game.

Politicians know no shame.

We all see the game.

Politicians always shift the blame.

Fund raising, funny money,

Don't become a cheating honey.

Give speeches and pretend,

Political life never ends.

Rich people shall endure,

That what makes life so impure.

Defense spending, up, up, and away.

Average citizens are going to pay.

Just for once a little honesty,

But that's not domestic policy.

Going to cast my important vote,

Might as well elect a billy goat.

At least the goat will not pretend

To be my everlasting friend.

We all see the game.

Politicians know no shame.

We all see the game.

Politicians always shift the blame.

We all see the game.

Politicians seek fortune and fame.

We all see the game, the game, the game.

I like that line, " Might as well elect a Billly Goat." Your poem should be published, Steven, in all of the newspapers.
