First, it should be known that I support term limits for everyone. Senate should get 3 terms, House 5 terms, and Governors 3 terms. I would also give Presidents 3 terms. And yes, my opinion on certain issues will influence my decisions, however I do not care if you are a Republican or a Democrat.
I'm going to examine these politicians on a point system. They gain points for certain things and lose points for others.
The first stop on my list of 50 states is Alabama.
US Senate races:
Richard Shelby: Ignoring the fact that he just started his 4th term, and in my eyes, that makes him not a legit leader, it appears that he got in trouble recently for leaking classified information on fox news, and he passed legislation that would profit him personally. Also, he supported an anti-gay marriage amendment. Reasons to fire: 5
Jeff Sessions: He supports torture. He doesn't mind what the KKK does and even went as far to say he only started disliking them when he found out they smoke pot, but hates the ACLU, and doesn't take the US Attorney scandal seriously: It scares me when our own Senators don't care about justice.
Reasons to fire: 3
House of Reps
Jo Bonners: I cannot find a reason to fire this person. He is relatively new, and he write news columns. The people who donate money to his political campaigns don't appear to be the shady type we see a lot of politicians take money from,
Terry Everett: He seems like a decent enough guy as he raised himself out of the ashes of a menial life and ended up as one of the more powerful people in the country. He isn't informed at all on worldly things and this has made his voting record suffer when it comes to votes about Iraq considering he had no idea about the differences between Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Additionally, he co-sponsored a bill with Ron Paul to end membership in the UN. While he cares about local issues, I don't think he belongs in the national stage if he is going to be that ignorant. Stupidity is completely unforgivable.
Mike Rogers: Meh, he took money from Tom Delay's lobbyist PAC. When I see a politician associated with Tom Delay or Jack Abramoff, I automatically want him fired. Sorry Mr. Rogers.
Robert Aderholt: Just passed his artificial term limit, but I have to say...this is the only guy I've found who seems to care about his constituents. Voting against your party if you think it will hurt your districts economy is great. On the other hand, trying to pass a bill turning your local police into the religious police is a horribly bad and immoral idea.
Bud Cramer: He voted for the Iraq war, and has been in power for too long. However, he supported President Clinton when the Republicans tried to impeach him for getting head in the White House. Unfortunately, when he decided to support some provisions of Newt Gingrich's contract with America, he signed his pink slip in my eyes.
Spencer Bachus: He has been in power for too long, and thinks anti-Bush speak is treasonous. However, his funders are not some of the more sketchy ones, and he isn't afraid to vote against his own party. I'd keep this guy, but put him on a final warning.
Artur Davis: He's in bed with the Israel lobby, other than that, he seems to be clean. Keep.
Governor
Bob Riley: Linked to Jack Abramoff. Nothing else matters here. Abramoff is a reason to fire someone.
So, we have 10 politicians. I'd fire the Governor, Both senators, and 4/7 House of Reps members. I have a feeling I'm going to suggest firing most of the people involved in the government, don't you?
