I have decided that each week I am going to post for our entertainment the top oil profit leaders across the United States just to see how poverish they are becoming and why we are going broke to help them gain ground across the world.
Today's winner according to CNN Money.com and still all time champ would be (1) Exxon Mobil with a nice little profit of $35.6 billion dollars, this would be profit not overhead expense. Coming in at a squeaking second place would be Chevron with $196 billion in revenue. Now there is a group known as the "Big Five" in the oil industry and this rating comes due to the fact of the money consumers spend daily at the pumps. The big five are BP, Chevron, Conoco-Philliphs, Exxon Mobil and Shell this being provided by ABC World News. Of course if you live in other areas you will probably see the names of Marathon who is the parent company of Speedway who seems to have a tendency to set the pricing standards in many areas to bring their cents per gallons up and hope that other competitors will follow their lead and go up which in turn when everyone sets the same pricing then Speedway can rack up on their internal retail sales with their Speedy Rewards Card promotions but that is another story.
So let us take a look at how much poverty the CEO's of these struggling oil companies made out of these little profits mind you though this was in 2010 and we all know you can't live off last years salary because if you could you would only work every two years right? So without further ado here are they poverty stricken people of the oil world:
(2) 2010 CEO Compensation of Major Oil Companies, from Equilar
1. Rex Tillerson (Exxon Mobil): $21.5 million
2. James Mulva (ConocoPhillips): $17.9 million
3. John Watson (Chevron): $14.0 million
4. Peter Voser (Shell): $12.8 million
5. William Kleese (Valero Energy): $9.8 million
6. Clarence Cazalot (Marathon Oil): $8.8 million
WOW! How will they make in 2011 on these little incomes? I am paying currently $4.25 a gallon at the pump and drive 44 miles one way to work gosh I hope I am doing enough so these guys will not starve.
On a more serious note this sickens me to no end. When will our government get of their political agenda's and start helping the American public get answers to this robbery without a gun at the pumps. Middle class people live on $32 to $40 thousand dollars a year some feeding a home of two up to six people and would love to afford a nice automobile, health insurance, the ability to no have to compromise paying certain bills each month, but that is not going to happen anytime soon because we have to have gas to get to work to get that car to go get insurance to pay bills. When all is said and done, we fill up at the pump and immediately our household budgets change. We have been offered every excuses as to why gas jumps so high, one is hurricanes interrupt shipping, production has been cut back, WAR, the threat of retaliation because we killed a guy who terrorized our country it never ends. Unfortunately we have control over none of this as American citizens unless we follow the governments lead and go buy a more economical car which they will give you a tax credit and which you will already be in the hole budget wise because the current car you have has to get you back and forth to work to get the new car you need mean time you get sick and have to use that money for the doctor visit -- .. WOW! My head is starting to hurt, but can you see the circle of life here? The bottom line is a cashier in a oil company owned convenient store makes on average $8 dollars per hour, the average store manager of the same company makes on average about $30 to $34 thousand per year not to include incentive bonus if they make sales and their insurance runs on average about $30 dollars a week single around $75 married or with dependents so it is easy to see that the CEO's of these companies are reaping the primary source of the income here along with a few politicians I could about guess.
We are going broke trying to just make a living in this country now. It is easier for new or non American residents to survive in this country with tax breaks than those who have spent years to help build what they currently have. No I am not against anyone coming to this country to become a legal citizen because our citizens are resident throughout the world, but our government has to start conducting investigations on these oil companies as to why they are strangling the American public financially to death.
