President:
Mitt Romney: The idea that Mitt Romney might be the next president scares me, not because of his unwillingness to work with people who disagree with him, but because he has said Jeb Bush is on his short list for Vice President.
Vice President:
Choice 1: Tom Coburn. Coburn is a Republican who claims to have modeled himself after Reagan. He has presidential aspirations, but is too new to actually run for president. This would be a great chance for the freshman Senator to show his stuff and actually overshadow the much despised President Romney as a glimmer of hope.
Choice 2: Jeb Bush. As much as it pains me to write this, Jeb Bush is plotting to be the president in the next twenty years. Anyone who wants to see Jeb Bush continue the Bush/Project for a New American Century/Neo-Con legacy will be elated to know that Jeb is the intelligent brother. He's charming, he flatters, and he actually reads everything given to him. Unfortunately, he's also evil.
Other possible choices; Orrin Hatch, Condi Rice, Sam Brownback
Secretary of State:
Zalmay Mamozy Khalilzad: I listed him under Guliani, and I'm contiuing to list him under every Republican candidate except Ron Paul. He is a Neo-Con with a lot of middle eastern experience and that is an important attribute for our future secretary of states.
Bill Owens: He is a former governor of Colorado, and Bush has him on his shortlist for a cabinet position. Given that he was one of the first people to come out in support of Romney, I see said cabinet level position being something big, like this one.
Others: Paul Bremer, Jay Garner
Secretary of Defense:
Matt Blunt: He's relatively young, willing to serve his country in the military, has political and military experience, and would serve as a great advisor to a Republican president. Plus, he is endorsing Mitt Romney.
John Sheehan: He is the only Military general actively supporting Romney, and he has a lot of experience as Supreme Allied Commander of NATO
UN Ambassador:
Jim Talent: Basically, Jim Talent is an ex-lobbyist republican supporting Mitt Romney who will probably get put in a position of power somewhere he has no business being, a lot like John Bolton
Attorney General:
Orrin Hatch; Basically, Orrin Hatch is one of the most evil men in politics. He cares about nothing but touting the party line even if it means destroying our constitution. Given his current doings involving the ignoring of the US Attorney scandal, I see George Bush making him the new AG right before he leaves office and Romney keeping that nomination up. He was on Bush's short list for Supreme Court Nominations, and is actively lobbying for this spot. Don't be surprised to see him as AG in the next two years. Plus, Romney and Hatch have the mormon connection going on.
Secretary of the Treasury
Ken Dam: He has served in many positions in the secretary of the treasury recently, supports Romney's candidacy, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (One of those crazy groups where everyone in it serves in high ranking political positions.)
John Cogan: Romney friend and confidante.
Secretary of Homeland Security:
Paul Bremer: Bremer has a storied history working overseas and now he is probably going to be put in a cabinet level position where he can influence President Romney on ridiculous laws such as the debaathification order that he enforced which destroyed Iraq.
Secretary of Veterans Affairs
Robert Pirie: He is the current secretary of the Navy, and once Bush leaves, it would be best of Romney chose one of the military branch secretaries to take this job
Secretary of Labor
Meg Whitman: CEO of Ebay, on P&G board of Directors, advisor and supporter of the Romney campaign. As one of the most influential women in the country, Romney would be stupid not to put her up in a position of power.
White House Press Secretary:
John Stossel: This is the same as putting Tony Snow in this spot. A political pundit who can talk is the best addition anyone can have to this job.
Chief of Staff:
Vin Weber: What better way to further the war in Iraq than to hire a PNAC member to be your advisor. What is even better is making that advisor your Chief of Staff in your administration. Add one Vice President PNAC member, One SecState PNAC member, and a CoS PNAC member and you've got the trifecta.
National Security Advisor -
Tom Ridge: Former Secretary of Homeland Security. He knows all about the threats, he's advising Romney's campaign and he's definitely going to be advising him in some way when Romney becomes president.
Other Possibility: Pete Hoekstra
Secretary of Commerce -
Wayne Allard: Current Senator who has announced he is retiring at the end of the term. It is a pretty safe bet he will be put in a low level cabinet position of any republican administration. He is also a senior advisor to the Romney campaign.
Secretary of Interior:
Larry Craig: Once again, this Romney supporter just happens to be on Bush's short list for this job. He joins committees that are primarily focused on helping the people in this country and generally shows selflessness when voting on laws.
Secretary of Health and Human Services -
Jennifer Dunn: Former House of Representatives member who helped Bush get elected and currently supports Romney for president. She's served on a lot of committees and done a lot of good for her party.
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development -
Sally Bradshaw: Romney advisor and friend
Secretary of Transportation -
Bill Weld: This is primarily an example of Romney promoting his friends to positions of power that don't really matter in the long run. Weld has long-term plans for national office and his support of Romney is probably only to go further in life. This is political opportunism at its best.
Secretary of Energy -
James Edwards: He already served once in this position under Reagan, but let to serve as a Hospital president. His experience will look good to a newcomer like Romney.
Secretary of Education -
Kerry Healey: This is primarily an example of Romney promoting his friends to positions of power that don't really matter in the long run. Healey's political career is over otherwise
Secretary of Agriculture- Chris Chocola: He was in the Agricultural subcommittee in the House of Representatives until he wasn't re-elected. His support of Romney makes him a likely candidate here.
