With low self esteem your mental abilities are shortchanged by listening to the egoist part of the mind. Now you're looking at yourself through rose colored glasses. Mental perception has now been blocked, and the subconscious mind immediately picks up on this. Now your beliefs are truly being threatened.
Deep emotions
The power of belief is one of the deepest emotions we have that seems to run in an emotional line directly to the soul. You've heard someone say "I believe it in my heart." This is a deep emotion which has sunk its roots deep into the heart and soul. Some of these beliefs are carried with us the rest of our lives.
Strong beliefs have started war after war by every civilization that has fought for what they "believe" in. Everyone has an opinion, just as everyone also has a belief in something. No one could ever say that they believe in nothing, everyone believes in something.
The power of belief intensifies when your opinions are shared with others who agree with you. We're always looking for someone to agree with us. This agreement helps to file away conceived "mental" perceptions and helps to sooth the ego. We soon believe that we're right in most areas of thought. Just on the premises of our belief system alone.
The power of belief
Anything is possible when you truly believe it. But, just let fear or doubt enter into your belief, and the whole ball game changes. Once fear has entered the mind the ego kicks in and rationality flies out the window. Now we're consumed by thoughts of "self-preservation" once the ego enters the picture.
I've heard it been stated that if some people we're told by their doctor that they had six months to live, it was just as good as signing a death warrant for this particular individual. The patent truly "believes" the doctor, so they mentally give up their will to live. But, on the other hand the mind could possibly be the biggest healer yet.
"Some" faith healers have healed many people just from the power of belief. The person being healed believes the faith healer can heal, and the faith healer also believes they can heal. So, where does this healing and belief come from: the mind, or God? Also, who controls these deep rooted beliefs in our minds?
The subconscious mind which is sometimes referred to as "the lower self" plays a big part in what we truly believe. This subconscious mind is in full control when we sleep of course, but it's also very much in control of our mind when we think about our past experiences.
Memories of past experiences are stored in the form of "subtle impressions" in our subconscious mind. These impressions (in our mind) interact with other thoughts and "give birth" to tendencies in the subconscious mind. The result of these tendencies is what forms our beliefs and character. So, not only what you consciously believe, but also what you subconsciously think controls your opinions and also your beliefs.
Using belief
The power of belief comes from a strong sense of self. Believing in yourself is probably the best thing you can do for others. Without a positive attitude your low sense of self is passed along to others. Negative attitudes are very contagious emotions. When one negative person enters the room you can almost feel the negative energy coming from this person. When negativity enters the scene the outlook of everyone else also seems to change just from this one negative person.
Throwing out negative thoughts when they enter the mind is the best way to build a positive attitude. This strengthens your sense of self. Now, with a strong sense of self, and a positive attitude, nothing can affect what you believe. Now your thoughts are reinforced by the subconscious.
Our beliefs and emotions are gathered up and recycled throughout our lives, like thousands of leaves changing their colors in the forest. As we go through life our beliefs are changed time after time as we look back on life and the experience from the obstacles avoided in life. This is all done for the experience and the evolution of the soul.
Each belief held close in your heart and soul opens up another spot (in your mind) for another belief to begin to grow. Without some sense of belief our minds would be as dry as the Sahara desert. The power of belief can be used in many ways, and how we use it depends on our perception. Belief can be used to: heal the sick, create a positive future for yourself and family, or end a civilization; the choice is yours.
