The Power of Deadlines

Motivator
I had a 20- year- old dream to move to Los Angeles; it didn't happen until I gave it a deadline.

Habakkuk 2:2 reads

And the LORD answered me,
and said, Write the vision,
and make it plain upon tables,
that he may run that readeth it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time,
but at the end it shall speak,
and not lie: though it tarry,
wait for it; because
it will surely come,
it will not tarry.

Deadlines are an "appointed time." In the passage above it basically reads a written vision with a deadline is going to come to pass. It reads that it will not lie. It will speak.

How do you know what the appointed time is?

Always check with God first. So pray and ask to be spirit-lead. Next look for the fruit of the spirit with different dates: A God-appointed date, makes you feel alive, joyful, peaceful, enthusiasm, extra pep in your step, its fun, its feel like life. For instance my move date is April 10, 2008. That date makes me feel like dancing, hearing live music, talking, meeting new friends and laughing. April 10, 2008 for a day to move to my own place is definitely an appointed time. In addition in the passage above it also reads 'that he may RUN!! Who readeth it.' So dates that set me on fire, and give me life, that makes me run... are the biblically appointed deadline dates.

Birthdays

Your birthday is a great deadline date to start with. Your birthday is a day that is extremely grafted in your mind, with history. My first short film will be completed by my birthday. Tell some friends and let that project be your present to yourself. The birthdays of lovers, friends, children, & family work too.
Holidays work well too. By the 4 of July, by Labor day, by Thanksgiving, or Christmas I will be in my office space, have 3 film cameras and a full time staff of 3 people.

6 months

The six month rule always is effective. Within six months from today I am going to meet the hot Latin man that is sent from God and who loves me good and we will be planning for marriage.

Why not?

Deadlines

Deadlines are biblical. Everything has a deadline in God's world. Everything! The sun has a deadline, the moon, the stars, babies, Doctors give mothers deadline to bring the baby child into the physical world. Ants have deadlines for harvesting, bears everything has a deadline for hibernation. Deadlines give the dream boundaries, teeth, feet, legs, eyes, hands, it makes it stand up and wobble. A deadline is the birthday of a dream. The delivery day may be a week or two off just like the doctor predicting the precise date of the baby's birth, but often it's about a couple of weeks or two off. For instance; I wrote a vision of receiving $5 a day from unexpected source by March 15, 2008. I received it in my spirit, and forgot about. Well it didn't happen on March 15, 2008 but on March 21, 2008 she was born, I now receive $5 a day by a completely unexpected source. Now I have new goal. $10 a day by April 10, 2008.
Deadlines are one of the greatest secrets to manifesting a dream.

How to start?

If you have a friend in another state it will really work well.

Type out some dreams that are really meaningful to you, creates some dates next to it; 6 months, by your birthday, one year, and seal the letter send it to your friend physically in the mail box, ask her to hold if for 6 months. The things that happen will be unbelievable.

Or do you it yourself or both.

Supplies

Calendar

2 big poster size white boards

Black or Green expo magic marker pens

Write the vision, on the big vision board.. see the passage above reads - so that he who reads it will run- so this vision needs to be posted in a place where you are seeing it. So write the vision either in a collage or a written words, or pictures that represent the vision, Pray for the answer to the appointed times -date it, and post it somewhere you can see it.

The Bible says it will come to pass.

This is wonderful and it is very important to set goals and more importantly deadlines. Thanks for providing the biblical aspect. I am using this concept as I develop more opportunities as a writer. Great work. Welcome to AC.

OMG.....translation.....oh my gosh!!!! This is excellent, moving, alive, full of life, free, love, .........the list is endless. I love this soooooo much. Number one becaue it is spirit led, and I feel the annointing of God all over it. I got chills in the beginning because That is one of my favorite scriptures, especially being a writer. I will definitely never look at deaedlines the same again, and I will most certainly do the list and be back with my testimony
