Logically speaking; the legalization of hemp could only create more jobs. Begin with the the plant by itself, farmers will be needed to grow and harvest it. Those harvesting will need to operate machinery to do the job, thus creating machines (and more jobs) to simply mass harvest the crop. Then delivery of the crop to pharmacies, dispensaries, and any other businesses with the legal involvement of the sale of hemp. Hemp can create paper, clothing, medicines, lotions, ethanol, and food. From this jobs are created for each category hemp deals with. Not only will jobs be created that improve the movement of our economy but also to improve our scientific research. If scientists could be given hemp to be used for study without the worry of prosecution so many great advancements could potentially come from this plant. The idea behind this would also improve our research for cures and other medicines.
The demand for hemp and all of its different uses could potentially bring our country out of debt. Our founding fathers recognized this country not for its sheer size but for its different uses its land provides. This country already has the capabilities of being able to grow hemp, but what is the importance of growing it in mass amounts and what would peak the demand for it? Ethanol. Alternative Fuel. It's time to switch to an alternative fuel source for the sake of our planet. In doing so, we eradicate the dependency on the middle east for oil and again become a prosperous nation by being able to produce and sell the next source of fuel. The Tacoma News Tribune reported that Mexican gangs are thriving from Americas forests in the attempt of mass producing hemp and marijuana. America could take back their forests through legalization, mass produce, and lower crime rates.
Legalizing hemp in a sense would control society more than it does so already. People get arrested everyday for marijuana offenses, the crime rates and the statistics have only increased. Once legal, the government could properly regulate it to those of 18 or 21 years of age. Theoretically this move would improve society because it eliminates the fear of our youth undergoing substance abuse with the help of the government backing it up. The statistic for the amount of offenses for just marijuana is surprisingly high and it grows everyday, if through legalization it is now okay to have possession of the narcotic, that stops the constant crime increase.
Speaking on behalf of Americas future, if the attempt for the legalization for hemp is made and succeeds, it will only better develop not only Americas future but the worlds. When oil is dug it is turned into fuel and burned. This in turn hurts the ozone layer. Ethanol however, has many different resources and one of them is hemp. If hemp is mass produced this only contributes more to the health of our environment and fights green house gases. With time, possibly 50 to 60 years, using oil will be the thing of the past and America could not be loved for only its power but for leading the world in keeping it healthy. What could raise the value of our dollar? Lower crime rates? Get our nation out of debt? Create more jobs? And solve or economy crises? Legalizing hemp is the idea.
