The Power of Self-Affirmations

Nathan Schilaty, DC
The human mind is in a constant state of motion and vibration - energy that is called thoughts. These thoughts, by laws of the universe, create our realities. The mind, composed of three entities - conscious, subconscious, and unconscious - is continually functional. Even when one is asleep and consciously unaware, the unconscious and subconscious minds are extremely active and alive.

Many have heard of the Law of Attraction and scoff at its underlying principles. They may think that it is "fluff" or "wishful thinking" or a "get rich quick" kind of scheme. Yet, those that ridicule the principles of the Law of Attraction do not understand the physics of energy and the vibrational frequencies of thought. Any time a thought is conceived, it is a vibration that attracts to it similar energy. All energy, with the proper principles, can be converted into physical form. Consider that Einstein stated that energy is mass multiplied by the coefficient of light squared (E = MC^2). He proved that energy can be converted into physical form, and vice versa. Take the radio, for example. A vibrational energy that is tranmitted through the airways hits an antenna and converts that energy into a physical sound via the radio and the speakers.

For additional insight into the power of the mind, take the following thoughts by prominent books and respected individuals into consideration:

  • "The ancestor of every action is a thought." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
  • "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." - Proverbs 23:7
  • "Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions."- Albert Einstein
  • "The difference between success and mediocrity is all in the way you think." - Dean Francis
  • "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right. " - Henry Ford
  • "First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do." - Epictetus
Many throughout history have understood the principles behind the Law of Attraction, or the principle of thinking and then doing. Much success comes by changing the automatic programming that occurs within the human mind. Most individuals surround themselves with negative people, thoughts, and emotions. As a result, they continue to experience more and more negative situations. Simply by affirming to the mind a new "software program", the mind would make an energetic shift and produce radically different results. Robert Collier stated, "Any thought that is passed on to the subconscious often enough and convincingly enough is finally accepted." When this new "programming" is accepted, different functions and outcomes can take place. Work is always involved. One cannot think themselves happy, wealthy, or successful; but they can think themselves that way and then act to become what they are thinking. The vibrational energy of their thought will guide them to doing what they need to accomplish.

"It's the repitition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen."
- Claude M. Bristol
