The Power of Webcams in Daycare Facilities

DEJA SPEARS
Ask any working woman with small children what the hardest part of going to work is, and she will tell you that is putting your child in daycare for eight hours a day. When I put my daughter in daycare for the first time I was confronted with so many terrible thoughts that I found it hard to concentrate during my work day. There are so many horrible stories about innocent children being abused and hurt at the hands of their daycare provider. Sadly many of the abused do not have the ability to articulate the crimes that are committed against them. In spite of the possibility of the abuse many women have to make a choice between making ends meet, and caring for their children. The majority of women who put their children in daycare do not have the luxury of staying home to care for them.

Another concern that working mothers are faced with is the amount of attention their child receives from the provider. Are they being engaged. Or was the instructor leaving them to sustain themselves. The lack of stimulation is frustrating, with most providers charging in range of $120 dollars per week you expect that in your absence your child will be stimulated and challenged .

When we put our children in daycare we expect that our children are well taken care of. T he fact is without being there we really don't know what is happening. As much as we combat the thoughts that cross our mind it is impossible to be one hundred percent sure that our children are safe.

But there is good news. Many facilities were able to identify and resolve the concerns facing working mothers by equipping the classrooms with webcams. Now we never have to wonder what type of care our children are receiving. The days of worrying your way through eight hours are no more. And although nothing could ever pacify that natural desire to raise your children yourself, you don't have to worry about them being abused or neglected. Because at any point during the day, a mother can log on to the daycare's website and actually check on their child.

By installing webcams in daycare facilities, mothers are empowered to go back into the work force confident that their children will not be mistreated. This technology gives a mother confidence knowing that although she may be at work her child is never more than a double click away.

Interesting! My child is in a daycare within the high school where my husband teaches. There is a huge window looking in from the hallway to the daycare so it's great to know that people are watching every moment of the day. It sure makes me feel better and so would a webcam.
