"Source Code" the movie has just been released this month, April 2011. It is an unusual story starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan. The movie was directed by David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones and it was written by Ben Ripley. It is a mysterious, adventurous thriller that gives a whole new dimension of what science could be in the future.

What is the Storyline of 'Source Code'?

Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is used as a transportation to a body on a commuter train. He wakes up not knowing where he is and who the woman Christine Warren (Michelle Monaghan) is. He is confused when he goes to the bathroom only to see a different face other than his own. He begins to wonder how this has happened. The train then explodes and Colter Stevens is transported back to his own body in a secret Army lab. He talks to a Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) who is a scientist. She explains to him that the commuter train was blown up by a terrorist bomb and that they need to send him back to the train to find the terrorist and the bomb, but he has only eight minutes to do this. Colter goes back, because he has to prevent the terrorist from leaving the train, because he is trying to blow up Chicago with a dirty bomb. Colter slowly begins to realize that he is only functioning from his brain that the lab is using for the "Source Code." He realizes that his father thinks that he has died in Afghanistan as a hero. Colter, also, becomes attached to Christine on the train and wants to save her and all the passengers from being blown up.

Every time he returns to the train he has only eight minutes to find out things by being in a another man's body so that he can prevent a disastrous event from happening. Can he do this and save everyone on the train too? Science is an unusual thing these days and this movie reveals this.

Was 'Source Code' a Success?

This mystery thriller has a scientific feel to it that the government use to prevent disasters from happening to the world. It would be a brilliant thing if something like this was ever to become available. The writer, Ben Ripley was very clever to create a story like the "Source Code." It is cleverly plotted out. Glen Gyllenhaal gives a gripping performance and makes the movie come alive with action. "Source Code" is skilfully crafted into a fast moving experience that viewers will not want to stop watching. It is exciting and thrilling, which makes it a success.
