There are a lot of dreams that I've had, but most of them in the night. Some good and pleasant, some frightening and even a few very bizarre. A few of the impacting moments I was able to recollect in the morning.
This one was clear, with every moment reselectable and as if I had actually been through the situation. The weirdest part, it was in the afternoon!
The setting was at dusk in a very familiar house. I was in a restless state moving around from one room to another, before deciding to go out for a while. As I set out to lock the doors, I found myself struggling with a large white carved door and a very modern type of locking and alarm system. As I shut the door, the alarm went off and would not stop till I opened the door. This went for a few minutes and not being able to figure it out, I decided to leave it get going. As I stepped out I temporarily froze. My car had vanished. My hand reached into my right pocket for the key and it was there.
Had I parked the car somewhere else and forgotten? I went over to the neighbour's compound to look. There were many cars standing there, but had not seemed touched for a long time with a lot of dirt and dust accumulated over them. A couple of them were of the same model and colour. The number plates were different. I could not find my car and was not sure if I had left it elsewhere or had it stolen. I tried getting back into the house only to find myself struggling again with the new lock and the alarm. It started to rain.
This is when I found myself awake with and the sounds of the rain on my window sill with a throbbing headache. I checked for the car keys and for the car immediately. They were both very much there.
The strange things about this dream were the mix of the present, the past and the non existent and a form of time displacement.
The car was one which I presently use.
The house was one in which I lived in a good 9 years ago.
My neighbour back then had a large lawn and never parked any cars there.
And we never had large carved white door with a complicated lock and alarm.
Premonition, too many things on my mind or was it something I ate? It must be the food..

Post a CommentWhen first waking, the worlds of sleep and waking are blended for a moment - and in that fleeting moment, all is revealed. Our waking minds force us to forget that brief and pure synergy... I think!
I have never tried to find out explanation for my dreams. If it is a good one I enjoyed it and if it is a bad one I ignored it. Having said this, dreams are but a product of our conscious and sub-conscious mind. Interpreting dreams could be intriguing but I rather not do it. so, live the happy dreams and forget the bad ones..
It happens I think with everyone, when we sleep we do get these type of dreams every now and then. Very well penned article...
